Port Forwarding
Port Forwarding Made Easy
Step 1: Download the port forwarding application by clicking here.
Step 2: Open up the application and you should see a screen like below
Paying attention to the fields highlighted in yellow, click on the "Router" drop down menu and search for the make and model of your router. If your modem/router is not listed you will need to refer back to the user documentation of your modem/router.
Once you have selected your modem you will need to fill in the following fields:
Router IP: This is automatically detected
Username : "by default this is normally " admin " or " root " and may be in the manual for your router
Password: "if you have changed the default factory password you will need to manually changed this field with the custom password you have created.
Step 3: We now have to create a custom rule to specify which ports we want to forward on your router. To do this, click on the "+" as shown on the image above.
Step 4: creating the custom rules
Rule 1:
Name : SIP
Type : UDP
Start Port : 5060
End Port : 5069
IP Address: "this will be the IP Address of the Voip device connected directly to the router. If you know the IP address simple select it from the drop down left.
Rule 2:
Name: RTP
Type: UDP
Start Port : 10000
End Port : 20000
IP Address: "this will be the IP Address of the Voip device connected directly to the router. If you know the IP address simple select it from the drop down left.
Once you have filled in the required fields click on the "Add" button to add the new rule and then close the window. You should now see a new entry added to the rule list.
Step 5: Applying the new rules to your router
Click on the "Update Router" to apply the changes to your router.

Hint:
To obtain the IP Address of a Linksys Voip adapter that was supplied by FaktorTel: 1) Pick up the Phone connected to the Voip adapter and dial **** and you should hear a configuration menu 2) When prompted dial 110# 3) The IP Address of the Voip adapter is played back to you over the phone |
Once you have filled in the required fields click on the "Add" button to add the new rule and then close the window. You should now see a new entry added to the rule list.
