    Step 1: Discovering the Grandstream HandyTone-386 ATA IP address

  • Dial *** followed by 02 on your telephone keypad or check your DHCP table by logging into the router which the 386 is connected to.
  • You will hear the IP address with the zeros. For Example: You hear 192.168.001.101 but you write 192.168.1.101
  • Step 2: Login to the Grandstream HandyTone-386 ATA

  • Now you have the IP address so go to your web browser.
  • Enter the username: 123 and the password: admin
  • Step 3: Configuring the Grandstream HandyTone-386 ATA

  • Go to FXS Port 1
  • SIP Server: sip.faktortel.com.au
  • Outbound Proxy: sip.faktortel.com.au
  • SIP User ID: Your FaktorTel USER ID
  • Authenticate ID: Your FaktorTel USER ID
  • Authenticate Password: Your FaktorTel PASSWORD
  • Name: FaktorTel Customer
  • Use DNS SRV: Yes
  • User ID is phone number: Yes
  • SIP Registration: Yes
  • Unregister On Reboot: No
  • Register Expiration: 1800
  • local SIP port: 5060
  • local RTP port: Use random port: Yes
  • DTMF Payload Type: Send DTMF: via RTP ( RFC2833 )
  • Preferred Vocoder: ( in listed order ) G729A/B, G711a ( PCMA )
  • Silence Suppression: No
  • Fax Mode: T.38 ( Auto Detect )
  • All other options leave as default
  • Step 4: Advanced Settings

  • FXS Impedance: Australia / New Zealand #1 ( 220 Ohm + 820 Ohm||120nF )
  • Caller ID Scheme: Bellcore
  • Onhook Voltage: 36V
  • Polarity Reversal: No
  • NTP Server: au.pool.net.org
  • Finally, Click on The Update Button, and then Reboot the Device.
